REAL Needs Your Help

The Commonwealth funding to our three high schools for chaplaincy has been slashed. Therefore we a looking at having to significantly reduce our presence in the schools due to the short fall in funding.

Do you consider Chaplaincy to our Secondary School students important?

Submissions for creative ideas or suggestions to raise extra funds would be gratefully received.

Please prayerfully consider ways in which financial support for this ministry may be increased.

If you are able to help please contact Denise at the Parish Office ph 6621 3200

4000 Mouths to Feed

Can you help?

Did you know that for over 10 years, a committed team [including people from Lismore Anglican Parish and other local churches] has been feeding about 4000 hungry people a year at the Lismore Soup Kitchen (Winsome) on a Sunday? That’s a miracle!

The aim is to feed about 80 patrons for Sunday lunch, giving the regular Soupie cooks a day off. As one of 3 rostered cooks, you would prepare a meal for about 25 people in your own home using sausages provided by the Soup Kitchen, then adding vegetables, rice, pasta etc. according to your personal recipe (aluminium trays are best).

You would ensure the meal is delivered to the Soup Kitchen by 10.30am Sunday morning in time for Sunday lunch. Sausages may be collected from Alan and Sue’s home in Girard’s Hill after 8am Fridays. Currently your roster commitment would be roughly once every 4-5 weeks.

If you would like to be involved in this rewarding ministry to the interior please talk to Alan or Sue 66213200.

Congregation Response to the Two Great Commandments:

Lord, have mercy on us: and write your law in our hearts by your Holy Spirit.

~ PRAYER OF THE DAY (COLLECT) ~

We pause to offer prayers and thanksgiving that we bring to our celebration of Holy Communion.

We beseech you, O Lord,

pour your grace into our hearts,

that, as we have known the incarnation

of your Son Jesus Christ by the message of an angel,

so by his cross and passion we may be brought

to the glory of his resurrection;

who lives and reigns with you in unity of the Holy Spirit,

one God, now and for ever.

Amen.

A Prayer for Choosing a new Rector

Bountiful God,

give to this parish a faithful pastor

who will faithfully speak your word

and minister your sacraments;

an encourager who will equip your people for ministry

and enable us to fulfil our calling.

Give to those who will choose, wisdom,

discernment and patience,

and to us give warm and generous hearts,

for Jesus Christ’s sake. Amen
