Bells
CALL the community to worship
Make us LISTEN to their message
As they ANNOUNCE a function – marriage, funeral
They call us in PRAYER
and often ring for a PURPOSE such as ANZAC DAY
There are most commonly EIGHT of them (as at St Andrew’s)
But most importantly they REMIND us of the Gospel
Ÿ
Reflection
from Diocesan Prayer Chain
Just as love to God begins with listening to His Word, so the beginning of love for the brethren is learning to listen to them…Christians, especially ministers, so often think they must always contribute something when they are in the company of others, that this is the one service they have to render. They forget that listening can be a greater service than speaking.’
Dietrich Bonhoeffer

~ PRAYER OF THE DAY (COLLECT) ~
We pause to offer prayers and thanksgiving that we bring to our celebration of Holy Communion.
Eternal God,
neither death nor life can separate us from your love:
grant that we may serve you faithfully here on earth,
and in heaven rejoice with all your saints
who ceaselessly proclaim your glory;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen
