Special Religious Education Enrolment in Public Schools

Parents who support their child receiving a period of Christian teaching in their public school each week are encouraged to send a note to the school with their child at the start of the school 2016 year. In the past children were automatically placed in “Scripture” unless parents had informed the school that they did not wish this. In future the child will not/may not be so enrolled unless the parent has requested this. Please inform other parents of this change so that they can advise their child’s school.

More Scripture teachers are needed to allow all the Primary schools to offer children a half hour lesson each week. If you feel you could help with this please talk to Val Axtens, Doug Ridley or one of our Ministers. It is not as scary as it might seem and it is wonderfully rewarding.

PRAYER OF THE DAY (COLLECT) ~

We pause to offer prayers and thanksgiving that we bring to our celebration of Holy Communion.

O God,

welcoming refuge for the outcast,

and upholder of justice for the oppressed:

maintain the hope of the poor,

so that the time may soon come

when no one need want for food and shelter,

and all will learn to share freely

following the example of your Son, who gave his very self;

who now lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,

one God, for ever and ever. Amen

~~~~~~~
Prayer points:
Give thanks for the faithful people of our parish.
All our ministries with children and youth.
A deepening of faith and a commitment to prayer.
