Last night at St Peters Goonellabah there was a celebration by junior high youth who had just experienced a week of God and fellowship at camp Ichthus 2011. They celebrated with worship and testimonies to what God had been doing in their lives.
Mark Perkins the Youth Minister challenged them to persevere in their faith now that the camp is over. Teaching from James 5:1-11 Mark reminds them and us of our material wealth compared to most of the rest of the world and for us not to let the material things get in the way of pursuing God, that making Jesus our first priority will bring the priceless treasure of eternal life.
May we learn to be generous with our wordly wealth by seeking to help others in poorer circumstances than ourselves as we seek to honour and bring glory to God.
