Easter Poem

Easter Tide

Easter… Tide of grief for Him,

who came to take away my sin;

upon a cross, upon a tree,

the place that’s called our calvary.

Easter… Tide of life was given,

His side was pierced quite wide,

to shed the blood upon the ground,

and wash away my pride.

Easter… Tide of death reversed;

He’s brought my eternal chance;

redeemed by Him who pleads for me,

has saved me from the lance.

Easter… Tide of love that flows from the Father’s heart,

gives me hope and faith and grace;

then, when he calls me to His rest,

I’ll see Him face to face.
