Why Choose a Christian Wedding?

Your wedding ceremony will be based on the Anglican Church of Australia Rites of Marriage and personalised in consultation with your celebrant. We urge you to consider your relationship with God as individuals and as a family. Ideally, you should be attending a church regularly.

You should genuinely desire a Christian marriage, with its obligations and responsibilities, rather than merely the use of an attractive historic building and a pleasant ceremony.

Your celebrant will help you plan an informal, meaningful ceremony with suggested readings, wisdom writings, prayers, blessings etc. so you can prepare your own service sheet. Involvement of family and friends in your ceremony will make your day even more special.

Preparation

We feel a great responsibilty in helping you to enjoy a successful marriage. Therefore couples agree to undertake a short course of marraige preparation. There are many options available through professional counsellors, etc. we use a respected non-denominational relationship survey ‘Prepare-Enrich’ (www.prepare-enrich.com.au) This is completed online, and produces a report which is discussed over several meetings with your celebrant or an administrator. It does not produce a pass/fail result – rather it’s a fun way to discover more about each other. There is always something to learn! You will meet the costs associated with this survey.
