~ PRAYER OF THE DAY (COLLECT) ~
We pause to offer prayers and thanksgiving that we bring to our celebration of Holy Communion.
God of the ages,
you call the Church to keep watch in the world
and to discern the signs of the times:
grant us the wisdom that your Spirit bestows,
so that with courage we may proclaim your prophetic word,
and complete the work you have set before us;
through your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
A Prayer for Choosing a new Rector
Bountiful God,
give to this parish a faithful pastor
who will faithfully speak your word
and minister your sacraments;
an encourager who will equip your people for ministry
and enable us to fulfil our calling.
Give to those who will choose, wisdom,
discernment and patience,
and to us give warm and generous hearts,
for Jesus Christ’s sake. Amen
