Refugee Sunday

Today 26th August is a day of prayer for refugees.

Take a moment some time today to say a prayer for refugees throughout the world, especially those in Australia.

Almighty and merciful God,

whose Son became a refugee and had no place to call his own;

look with mercy on those who today are fleeing from danger,

homeless and hungry.

Bless those who work to bring them relief;

inspire generosity and compassion in all our hearts;

and guide the nations of the world towards that day

when all will rejoice in your Kingdom of justice and of peace;

through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Prayer from the Church of England

Working Bee

Next Friday and Saturday morning, starting at 9am each day we are holding a working bee to continue the work on the undercroft.  Can you help out?  We have jobs for all skill levels.  The children have outgrown the stage area for Sunday School and desperately need this larger space.  This will help us get the undercroft ready for the children’s ministry within the parish.  So if you can spare an hour or more during those days it would be a tremendous gift from you to the children of the parish.  We aim to finish around 1pm each day, so an hour or more would be greatly appreciated.
